Modern advertisement invades our daily lives. Sometimes advertisement can be totally irrelevant and just disrupt our daily lives. One type of advertising I really like though is real-time advertisement. Our world is moving fast and faster and the importance of real-time advertisement is vital. It’s important for companies to take advantage of situations happening all over the world and use them to their advantage for advertising. One method of real-time marketing I find extremely effective is through the popular social media site, Twitter.

One of the most popular real-time advertising tweets was during the 2013 Superbowl Power Outage Oreo Cookie tweeted “Power Out? No Problem” and attached to a picture that showed an Oreo in the dark with a caption that said, “You can still dunk in the dark” this got 15,883 retweets and 6,280 favorites giving the company tons of exposure.
