YouTube has been around for 8 years now and it’s remarkable how much it has evolved over that time. From its launch as a beta site in 2005 to Google purchasing YouTube in 2006 for $1.65 billion. From its Partnership Program in 2007 to the creation of its music video service Vevo in 2009. From its instrumental role in the Arab Spring in 2011 to the first live-stream of the Olympics in 2012, YouTube has gone from strive to strive. It even gave the world Justin Bieber, but we all make mistakes. Since its inaugural 19 second video uploaded in 2005 of co-founder Jawed Karim, YouTube has gone on to have more than one billion unique users visits each month. As the largest video sharing website in the world, YouTube has taught us a lot.
